Cinnamon(darchini) is a spice that comes from the inner bark of tropical evergreen trees of the Cinnamomum family. It grows in the regions of Caribbean, South America, and Southeast Asia.Just like other herbs and plants cinnamon has also proved to be essential to human health. Doctors in medieval times used cinnamon to treat coughing, sore throats and arthritis.

According to research cinnamon is effective on woman with sexual dysfunction. Another study resulted in an increase in sexual performance by the use cinnamon.
Prevents HIV
Cinnamon is proved to be preventative against HIV according to a study. Some of the extracts like Cinnamomum cassia, or cinnamon bark, and Cardiospermum helicacabum, the cinnamon shoot and fruit were most effective in reducing HIV activity.
Diabetes
It is found that cinnamon improves glucose and lipid levels in diabetic patients. The authors of the study suggested that if cinnamon included in the diet of type 2 diabetic patients, this may reduce their risk factors of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Cinnamon has been proven to be helpful in protecting against multiple sclerosis (MS). A study shows that cinnamon treatment is capable of modifying pathological features in mice with experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE), an animal model of MS.
Anti fungal
Cinnamon oil has shown some anti fungal properties according to a research. Cinnamon showed marked sensitivity against albicans and non-albicans spp and effective against nearly 50% of the Candida isolates.
Anti Oxidant
Cinnamon has some elements which act as antioxidants in the body. It helps in removing free radicals and has, in return, antioxidant effect.
